Keto Lunch: Keto Cheeseburger

It's National Cheeseburger Day and to celebrate this cheesy day we have the premier keto cheeseburger recipe! Of course, your regular burger buns are filled with carbs, so with that in mind, our recipe will not be using any of the wheat stuff.

Why Cheeseburger? 

The keto diet is recognized for its low carb, high-fat meal plan, and cheeseburgers satisfy the latter requirement sufficiently. The classic BBQ item is high in fat and protein which not only makes them perfect for keto, but also an easy beginner meal for those who are just switching over from being non-keto.

Of course, we can't ignore the toppings that complement the juicy beef patty. Once you add the lettuce, tomato, onions, pickled jalapeños, dill pickles, and a glass of iced Wakey, Wakey tea to wash it all down - the dish becomes all the more palatable.

Serving Size
  • 6 oz. ground beef
  • ¼ cup (1 oz.) cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • ½ tbsp fresh oregano, finely chopped
  • ½ tbsp butter, for frying


  • 1¼ oz. (1 cup) lettuce
  • ½ oz. tomato
  • ½ oz. onion
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp pickled jalapeños, chopped
  • 23 oz. sliced dill pickles
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  1. Mix in seasoning and half the cheese into the ground beef, combining with hands or a wooden spoon until blended.
  2. Mold the burger patties and fry in a pan or grill if you prefer.
  3. Season patties with salt and pepper, and add the remaining cheese on top towards the end.
  4. Serve on lettuce with mayo, tomato, onion, pickled jalapeños, dill pickle and mustard.
